
PN Evolution range
The new range of PN Evolution pneumatic presses meets the needs of even the most demanding cellars. These presses are all equipped with new Fast Press drainage grids and closed and inerted juice vats. These innovations allow increased press input capacity and reduced pressing time, while preserving the quality of the juice. The PN Evolution pneumatic presses come in sizes varying from 240 to 600 hl.
"Since the beginning of the 2016 production, we have been using the 240 hl PERA-PELLENC press equipped with the latest innovations. This press incorporates the new tank drainage system by removable grids. These grids allow for faster drainage so more grapes can be fed in.
This has enabled us to increase the quantity of grapes placed in the press significantly (up to 75 tonnes of Chardonnay and Sauvignon - 40% more than in a conventional press of the same size), shorten the filling time (by about an hour) and above all, to reduce the pressing time, which is the biggest advance in wine making. And given the drip capacity, we often don't even need to exceed a pressure of 1300 mbar (1hr 50 to dry the pomace completely).
Also, the quality of the juices remains extremely good thanks to the injection of nitrogen under the grids and the high speed of juice extraction.
The other big asset is the cleaning: the grids provide a smooth surface inside the tank, so the pomace is emptied quickly and completely (in 10-15 minutes). Washing with paddles or by soaking is very efficient and done in record time. The new, very user-friendly tactile interface also makes all the operations easier."
